I lived through the negative impact stuttering had on my social life, and my dating life, and my academic life, and my professional life. I cried myself to sleep. I asked God, why me.

WHY IT’S FREE

My book, I Used to Stutter, is free because it is the fulfillment of the promise I made when I was 14 years old in my parents' driveway.

HOW I STARTED

I still stuttered badly, but it was slightly better.

When you're in that kind of pain, you'll take something that's slightly better.

You see me now, but when I was working on my speech, I was not here.

I can shortcut the information, but there's no shortcuts in the amount of work required.

Me and you: what I’m sharing

I am firm in concrete opinions of what it takes to become a man who used to stutter. Become the man who used to stutter. I'm one person. All of this stuff and these stories in my book worked for me. I have no idea if these tips, techniques, tips and tricks will work for you and your stutter. Stuttering is deeply personal, and everyone has different experiences, so what works for me might not work for you.

10It's too early in the day to hate yourself

16Shut up and listen

THE PERSON IN FRONT OF YOU

Staring at their mouth, it was a great crutch while I learned things. Then I learned how to look them in the eyes and talk. But the first thing I did was the mouth, because it got me away from thinking.

WHY THE BOOK IS FREE

I made a promise.
I was 14.

I actually got tough love in the worst moment of my life when all I wanted was a hug. To be told it would be okay.

I promised God that if God would help me stop stuttering, I would dedicate the rest of my life to helping people who stutter become fluent.

I would have loved a big brother who had gone through this. It's as much about the fluency help as it is about the loneliness.
