MY NAME IS CRAIG COFFEE

I’ve walked
in your
shoes.

What are my qualifications? My life. I used to stutter. I walked the walk.

I lived through the negative impact stuttering had on my social life, and my dating life, and my academic life, and my professional life. I cried myself to sleep. I asked God, why me.

All I wanted was a hug.

I actually got tough love in the worst moment of my life when all I wanted was a hug. To be told it would be okay.

I promised God that if God would help me stop stuttering, I would dedicate the rest of my life to helping people who stutter become fluent.

This was a defining moment in my life. I remember this day as the turning point in my fluency journey.

You see me now, but when I was working on my speech, I was not here.

There was no path, and there was no one who showed me how to do it. All the long, slow, dumb way.

I still stuttered badly, but it was slightly better. When you're in that kind of pain, you'll take something that's slightly better.

I'm telling you what I would have begged and pleaded someone to have told me. I can't go back in and share this with my old self, but I would have shared this same exact stuff. It's me and you talking here, man.

Me and you.

I would have loved a big brother who had gone through this. It's as much about the fluency help as it is about the loneliness.

I am firm in concrete opinions of what it takes to become a man who used to stutter. Become the man who used to stutter. I'm one person. All of this stuff and these stories in my book worked for me. I have no idea if these tips, techniques, tips and tricks will work for you and your stutter. Stuttering is deeply personal, and everyone has different experiences, so what works for me might not work for you.

My book, I Used to Stutter, is free because it is the fulfillment of the promise I made when I was 14 years old in my parents' driveway.
